Fremantle Elopement Wedding Surprise Package
Matt & Katie’s elopement wedding in Fremantle had a surprise twist to it. Starting off with a first look at Booyeembara Park in Fremantle, wedding photos around Freo and a cocktail reception at The Deck - Little Creatures in Fremantle. Sounds awesome right! Nothing too out of the ordinary so far, well, they had already got married earlier in the year in Fremantle.
It’s been a strange year or so with Covid-19, add to the mix that your fiancé is “in the navy!” and you can imagine that they have had to think well and truly outside the box. I love that!! Bring on more out of the box weddings. So, effectively this was kinda like a cool wedding photo shoot to celebrate this amazing moment in Matt & Katie’s journey together.
I know Booyeembara Park really well, so I was excited to hear that we would be doing some pics there. Matt & Katie live over the road in an awesome little community next to Sullivan Hall in White Gum Valley.
The pics below were taken while Matt changed into a nice crisp dark blue suit for the remainder of their wedding photos. Some of Katie’s neighbourhood pals were hanging out for a glimpse of Katie and they were stoked to get a few pics with her.
I love landscape photography and I love awesome scenes with beautiful light. So when I saw this backlit tree I nearly wet myself with excitement haha. I know very nerdy heh.
So, from the previous photos you may not realise that Matt hates having his photo taken and he was quite anxious about the photo experience. Here is Katie’s 5 star google review she shared this week.

Positive: Professionalism
“John took such amazing photos at our wedding. He was professional and relaxed and put my husband who isn't keen on having his photo taken at complete ease. Such a fun day with amazing photos!”
The following photos including outside Little Creatures Brewery in Fremantle were taken in twenty minutes. That was the time we had before heading into The Deck.
The Deck is an amazing wedding function centre overlooking Fremantle Harbour and the Indian Ocean. It has that cool industrial vibe that has made Little Creatures such a success.
I have two say that I had the best ever pizza in my life here at The Deck (The prawn one) I have been to Italy many times and sampled numerous fantastic pizza’s but this was the best.
From what I could see from the food coming out, the generous serves and the smiles on peoples faces this a venue to consider for your wedding or function.
We nipped out for a few more pics at sunset. It wasn’t an epic one but the light was beautiful and soft. I love the contrast on the water and the fishing boat harbour backdrops.
I have photographed thousands of weddings and elopements in Fremantle and it’s always fun and a pleasure to get creative in this awesome city.
