Family portrait session tips

Family portrait session tips

It is great that people in Perth really value family portraits. Our clients have pride in their family and professional photographs help them to display this in their homes. What better kind of artwork is there other than the personality of your family. It adds warmth and improves the feel of your living space by making it feel more like a home.

  1. We will discuss and explain to you the options open to you at the Portrait Design Session. We have a choice of three photography styles which are classical, natural and fine art. We also have the choice of selecting from one of our great location settings or the studio. We will help you select the style and location that suits your requirements.
  2. To add a personal touch to your portraits please bring along something that each of you are into. You may love to ride your bikes as a family or go on surf trips. One of your kids may be a mean drummer or a talented dancer. Whatever it is we can get theĀ  creative juices flowing and capture a portrait that shows your personalities. That’s what being an artist is all about and I want to create a portrait that you will really treasure and enjoy for life.
  3. Parents should dress with comfort in mind, wear your favourite outfit that you feel great in and that gives you heaps of confidence. Outfit changes are a great idea or perhaps a few accessories to change the look. It is recommended to wear darker plain clothing as it is less distracting. Writing, logos and crazy patterns divert the viewers attention away from the subject. If you are having an extended family portrait session it is a good idea for the adults to wear a similar colour scheme so that everyone fits together, don’t worry I can quickly show you an easy way to organise this. These are guidelines and not rules so please wear what makes you feel happy and comfortable.
  4. Younger kids should have two outfit changes with them. This can be their favourite outfits. You can often get great natural images while asking a kid to put a pair of funky sunnies on amongst other cool accessories like beanies and scarves.
